It obviously depends on how much you want to spend and in what time frame. Or maybe we're asking the wrong question.
Do you need more money, or just the right attitude?
Is being debt-free, in control of your expenses and increasing your wealth, while not working a job you hate, enough to be 'financially secure'.
If you are debt-free, control your expenses, and focus on increasing your savings on a monthly basis, you can survive tough times, such as a layoff, for months, or even years, without a change in your lifestyle.
