Delay your Email after hitting Send

In a previous post regarding protecting your image at work, I mentioned that "email + drinking" don't mix. Guess what, I am human and I learned that lesson the hard way. At a previous job (a long, long time ago), I was emotionally charged because the company was setting policies that didn't align with an atmosphere of increasing sales. After a couple glasses of wine, I sent an email that I regretted. I wasn't fired or reprimanded but it was easily one of the most regrettable emails of my career despite the fact that it worked and provoked major changes.

If you are an Outlook user, you can set a rule that will delay all outgoing emails just in case you send something that is regretted seconds after hitting "send".

To learn each step and prevent ungodly embarrassment, read Use Outlook Rules to Prevent "Oh No!" After Sending Emails by the How-To Geek [via Lifehacker].
