I was recently in an email conversation with a reader and part of it pertained to how our self esteem gets brutalized when you take risks. For example, when you start a business and realize that you didn't do enough homework and finally realize it's going to flop, at some level you will question whether or not you're cut out for or smart enough for entrepreneurship.
In reality, we all are. We just have to learn how to take the lashing, recuperate, and then start again. Easier said than done right? I won't dispute that, however I will put you in touch with a great list of ways which will help you begin.
The Ririan Project lists 22 ways that you can help beef up your self esteem and while it was extremely difficult to just choose one example, I did:
Figure out the hidden strengths in your so-called weaknesses: You can’t develop high self-esteem if you constantly repeat negative comments about your skills and abilities. Remember that there is always a positive in every negative if you look hard enough. For instance, you may think of yourself as stubborn, but the flipside is that you’re also persistent and dependable.
