Ways To Beat Daily Stress

I have said it before and I will probably say it a thousand more times. The key to reducing stress is 95.3% implementation and 4.7% identification. Yes, I made up those percentages to make fun of those that claim a single solution can cure everyones stress issues. Simply put, there is no remedy to stress. There are however things we can do to lower the level a bit.

I think a lot of people make their list of life changes and tweaks, sigh, and then think the exercise is over. Ah..if it were only that simple. You can list millions of ways to reduce stress but without designing a personal plan that you will implement into your life, it's worthless. Frankly, it probably stresses you out more because it's yet another personal project that failed.

Vishal P. Rao occasionally writes for Lifehack.org and today he really takes a simple approach to reducing stress.

  • Brighten up your home

  • Slow down and enjoy your meals

  • Enjoy the outdoors

  • Breath and stretch

  • Take breaks

  • Wear comfortable clothing

  • Express and embrace your feelings

  • Make time for the activities you enjoy

  • Take care of your body

Reading through the list, I think we'll all agree that there is nothing earth shattering. However, in his article he takes a straight and simple approach toward implementation. If you are in the mood for a little change in life, pick a small adjustment and implement it! Once it becomes an automatic part of your routine, move to the next.
