In the past we mentioned Farecast and Kayak as internet destinations that provide nice search tools for the frugal traveler. It's been a while since touching the travel niche so we looked for some solid, recent information and there was our buddy Yan.
Yan writes/owns/manages an up and coming blog named ProBargainHunter.com. In his article he shares the travel search engines, middlemen, booking agencies and airlines that you have to choose from.
Booking Agencies
"These will search for the best price and will charge you a fixed fee (around $5) to book the ticket. Unless you are in a hurry it is always a good idea to check the airline website directly (see the list below) before paying the agency. Just as with search engines the booking agency may sometime display stale pricing data although this usually happens less frequently"
