I think I just found what my weekend will consist of...playing with Jumpcut. Jumpcut is a community site where users can submit and edit movies and photos. Their key claim is that they make creating movies and slideshows easy but their functionality seems to go a little further.
For example, if you see a clip that you want to add to your movie, just drag and drop the thumbnail and grab the piece that you want. The editor is pretty all inclusive so we are not talking about changing fades or timings.
The site also has a Youtube-looking comment system so users can comment on public videos to provide feedback to the creator.
